Watch That First Step, It's a Doozy

Durham, NC
First Week of 2009

Let's see. After my wonderfully awesome trip to California mountains, I came slumping back to North Carolina. Ok...Ok... I wasn't slumping, but I certainly wasn't skipping. :)

I Spent some more time walking around downtown this weekend. I got coffee at a place that Barrack Obama had visited in August. The people that worked there were really nice and I spoke to one of the ladies there for about 10 minutes. Suppppppper nice.

New Years Eve (with my new friends)
I've made a few great friends since I've gotten here. The guy on the right (my left) is James. He has been super helpful in getting settled into my new job. Great guy. The guy on the left (my right) is Demond. Annother talented and nice guy who works at another studio locally.

James had a pretty big party at his house. Basically it went like this.
-Drinks
-More drinks
-Stupid picture time
-Rockband
-Got lost in the woods with 2 people.
-Went to bed around 5:00 am

And here is a drawing of a character from Muramasa. Used the character screenshot as reference. I suck at drawing. It's nice to be practicing again.

My Apartment
This is called "Brightleaf Square". It's a fancy little outdoor shopping area right next door to my apartment. My building is that big tobacco building straight ahead. This area is really kinda neat. They have chosen to keep all the old factories and just gut them (turning them very nice inside) instead of flattening them and making gross new ones. It keeps the areas history and honestly... is pretty awesome.

This is my apartment. Messy as hell already! I took down the christmas tree and bought an easel. I bought a few new canvases as well. New paint and new brushes also. Oh yes.

New Stuff and Other Crap
Books - Finished lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. Was great.
Movies - Finally watched Wall-E. It's too cute. I miss Truckee.
Music - The Blow, The Knife, City and Colour

I've had so many ideas lately. Part of me feels a little upset, because I miss all my friends back in SF Bay. I miss how open minded the area was. I miss the zero judgement. But, right now, this very moment, my imagination and creative side is going crazy. I just need to figure out how to put it down into something that will out live me...right?

You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. - Mark Twain
